Whether your problem is supply of pure drinking water from seawater,
removal of poisonous contaminations or production of ultra pure water
for high-tech industry, our combined Reverse Osmosis systems can do
the job efficiently and economically.
VYRAQUA produces a wide range of reverse osmosis machines, our
professional team is using computer-aided design based on water analysis
and customer requirements
Each system is assembled and tested in-house, and our technical service will help install it and start-up in-place.
Our RO systems use the most modern energy saving low-pressure membranes or the new generation of low fouling elements with high efficiency multi-stage centrifugal pumps (high-speed turbine with energy recovery for seawater).
PLC control, reduced voltage motor start, dynamic display and operator interface are the “state of the art” in control technique.
Materials of construction are non-corroding plastics and AISI 316 stainless steel (used even for the machine frame).
Reverse Osmosis “RO” info :
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a reliable, easy to use membrane separation
process for desalination and purification of water.
Modern RO membranes are capable of the highest filtration level,
separation of dissolved salts from water (with over 99% efficiency) and
almost complete removal of bacteria, viruses and colloidal matter.
A reverse osmosis system consists basically of a pressure pump and
RO membranes. However, raw water from different sources require
treatment before entering the membranes.
Pretreatment of raw water is most
important to prevent precipitations,
protect RO membrane and assure
long operational life.
VYRAQUA range of pretreatment include:
flocculation and multi-media filtration,
softening, pH control, anti-scalant
dosing, activated carbon filters,
ultrafiltration and microfiltration.
Permeate flush systems are used to
flush the membranes periodically with
clean permeate (RO product water) to
minimize membrane fouling when the
influent water is contaminated or with
high fouling tendency.
Permeate is collected in a tank and
used to flush the membranes each
shut-down or every few hours. CIP (clean in place) means a facility to clean or sterilize the membranes
without removing them from the RO machine.
CIP consists of a tank for cleaning solution with the necessary connections, pumping and control. It may be performed manually or automatically.
Special Reverse Osmosis Applications:
High Purity Water
Dissolved CO2 may be the controlling factor of pure
water quality in pharmaceutical and microelectronics production.
CO2 is not removed by RO membranes and must be converted to
bicarbonate ions.
The systen consists of Dual softener unit operating in series
(to assure zero hardness), pH controlled dosing of sodium
hydroxide and double pass Ro with high rejection membranes.
Permeate meets USP23 quality requirements.
High Recovery
Reaching high recovery ratio (to 90%) and minimizing reject flow
to drain is possible by using nanofilration.
These membranes are much less sensitive to fouling by the high
salts concentrations created by operating at high recovery.
A high recovery system will have nanofiltration membranes
installed on the reject line (no need for repumping).
The nanofilter permeate is recycled to the RO feed.
Boron Removal
Boron is a poisonous element existing in some water sources.
Being a small uncharged molecule, Boric acid rejection by RO
membranes is poor. It is possible to improve rejection by controlling the pH.
The system consists of pretreatment stage by a weak acid cation exchanger (to
remove hardress) followed by aeration tower (for removing CO2), injection of
hydroxide for pH elevation, and finally RO which can now remove Boron more
efficiently.
